Tracking AI Usage on Centaur

Site Design

The logo is a centaur image found searching for a public domain centaur image using google search.

I then tried to transform it in to ASCII format using Gemini and the result is maybe my favorite thing in a while. Please enjoy. After, I went to GPT-5 and just had it generate a python script to give us the real logo.

Centaurs of Loving Grace

The start of this article was actually having Gemini 2.5 Pro write a research report for me. I had Claude fact check it and talk through it with me before I read it and looked into stuff myself. I've been interested in the concept of AI Centaurs since Paul Miller did an episode on Cyberdeck users weekly years ago that touched on the idea (I think it's this one but no promises). But this was early days and I was running a 5600XT graphics card and AMD support was miserable and it was nowhere close to being able to run GPT-3 locally and research access was a nightmare. Anyway I digress.

After reading through this report and then combing Google articles and listening to a few episodes of Hard Fork, Plain English, and half of a Nature Biotechnology episode about foundation models I just decided to one shot the article. I wrote it in probably four hours start to finish with all sources cited. I passed it to my wife for a human review and then had Claude take a pass at it. I'm hesitant to share the Claude pass because I get very insecure about first drafts. Let me know what you think though and if that's something I should be disclosing. After Claude and I edited through it, I had Gemini fact check it (and had it address my insecurities - gosh sharing these is vulnerable haha). I also had Claude take a pass at the fact checking (but in the same chat with the first draft oops).
